EBSCOhost: Full text magazine and newspaper articles. Contains indexing for over 5,000 periodicals.
World Book Online Reference Center: Provides access to all articles from World Book Encyclopedia, as well as related articles from major newspapers and magazines. Includes photographs, maps, illustrations, tables, animations, and audio/video clips.
ABC-CLIO Social Studies Websites: Provides social studies information in the areas of: American Government, American History, State Geography, United States at War, World Geography, World History.
Gale Magazine Indexes: Delivers articles on current events, popular culture, business and industry trends, the arts and sciences, sports, hobbies, and more.

AUTO REPAIR:

Auto Repair Reference Center: A source of repair information searchable by car model, from 1945-present. Content is taken from Chilton's Auto Repair Information, and resources available include: Service manuals, Repair procedures, Wiring diagrams, Service bulletin and recalls, and Specifications.

BIOGRAPHY:

Biography Reference Center: A comprehensive collection of full-text biographies, including the complete articles from Biography Today and Biography magazines.

DIRECTORIES:

ReferenceUSA: The ReferenceUSA databases include: Business Directory, Residential Directory, Health Care Directory, Canadian Business/Residential Directories, and CorpTech (Directory of Hi-Tech Businesses).

DOWNLOADABLE AUDIOBOOKS:

NetLibrary's eAudiobooks: A large selection of Audiobooks to download at home and listen to on your computer, or to transfer to your MP3 player.
To get started, visit the library (either Minden or Lake Tahoe) and set up your free NetLibrary account.
Then from home, go to the NetLibrary site to download audiobooks! If you have trouble downloading eAudiobooks after you've set up an account, please contact NetLibrary for assistance.

NetLibrary's eBooks: A collection of electronic books (eBooks), covering a wide range of research, reference and informational topics.

GENEALOGY:

Heritage Quest Online: Provides a unique, growing collection of research materials for tracing family history and American culture, including census records. Beginning or professional genealogists will find this resource helpful. You must be a Douglas County resident to use this resource from home.

READERS' ADVISORY:

Novelist: A guide to fiction. Besides locating books to read, learn more about favorite books and authors through author read-alikes, feature articles, book discussion guides and booktalks.
