World Book Online Reference Center: Provides access to all articles from World Book Encyclopedia, as well as related articles from major newspapers and magazines. Includes photographs, maps, illustrations, tables, animations, and audio/video clips.
Grolier: Full text access to two encyclopedias: New Book of Knowledge and Multimedia Encyclopedia, as well as current news articles from around the world. ~ Please contact the Library at 782-9841 for login information.
ABC-CLIO Social Studies Websites: Provides social studies information in the areas of: American Government, American History, State Geography, United States at War, World Geography, World History.
Gale Magazine Indexes: Delivers articles on current events, popular culture, business and industry trends, the arts and sciences, sports, hobbies, and more.

AUTO REPAIR:

Auto Repair Reference Center: A source of repair information searchable by car model, from 1945-present. Content is taken from Chilton's Auto Repair Information, and resources available include: Service manuals, Repair procedures, Wiring diagrams, Service bulletin and recalls, and Specifications.

BIOGRAPHY:

Biography Reference Center: A comprehensive collection of full-text biographies, including the complete articles from Biography Today and Biography magazines.

COMPUTER & SOFTWARE SKILLS:

LearningExpress Library: "Computer & Internet Basics" contains interactive tutorial courses to familiarize you with using a computer and the Internet. Learn at your own pace. "Popular Software Tutorials" will help improve your computer skills. There are courses for Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, & Outlook, as well as Corel WordPerfect and Windows & MAC Operating Systems. For home access, you must use your Douglas County Library card number (with no spaces) for your username.

ReferenceUSA: The ReferenceUSA databases include: Business Directory, Residential Directory, Health Care Directory, and Canadian Business/Residential Directories.

DOWNLOADABLE AUDIOBOOKS:

EBSCOhost Audiobooks: A large selection of Audiobooks to download at home and listen to on your computer or to transfer to your audio device.

NOTE: NetLibrary Audiobooks are now provided by EBSCOhost. Please bear with us while the change-over is being made! If requested, please enter your Douglas County Public Library card #, click on "Audiobook Collection" and then select "Audiobooks" in the upper left corner of screen. You will need to create an account with EBSCO, and install EBSCO's Download Manager (instructions are provided) in order to checkout Audiobooks.
